Both B & K testers are mutual conductance testers, while the Sencore is an emissions tester. As you can see, each tester has its own personality and scale. So, the B & K 700 might show 22, but that means the tube is good and consistent with the tests on the two other tube testers that show ratings of 100 per side or higher. Finally I run each tube through the preamp section of a Tweed Princeton Amp to ensure tone is good on these and try to weed out any microphonic tubes. Tube Shortage: As many of you know, due to the conflict in Ukraine and various economic sanctions, the production of brand-new vacuum tubes has pretty much dried up for now. In essence, there is now a world-wide shortage of new production vacuum tubes.
