1950s MATSUSHITA HRA-20 AM/Shortwave RECEIVER TUBE HI-FI Mid-Century Modern I think this would be a beautiful restoration project. The knobs, front & rear panels are intact, the cabinet looks pretty good & has already been stripped (by someone else, not me), and the chassis looks pretty clean. Matsushita started exporting equipment to North America under the National Panasonic and later Panasonic names in the late '60s. All of the text on this radio is in Japanese, so I can only assume that it was made for the Japanese market, but someone (possibly from the armed forces) brought it to the US after a tour of duty in Japan. This receiver seems to be rare and I couldn't find any documentation on it online. At least it does have the schematic printed on the bottom of the cabinet. Untested. I typically recap paper & electrolytic capacitors in radios this old as a matter of course, so I didn't test it. Someone stripped the finish from cabinet, including any front panel decals. The condition seems really nice aside a couple of places where the veneer chipped or was sanded through (the last two photos). Please look carefully at the photos
